Step 1.

Unfortunately, many routers do not support L2TP connection with IPSec (encryption), so it needs to be disabled on the server side.

Log in into VPNext server settings with SoftEther VPN Server Manager (view manual) and in “IPsec / L2TP Setting” section check “Enable L2TP Server Function (Raw L2TP with No Encryptions)”.

Click “ОК”.

Step 2.

Log in into the router admin interface.

In the left menu select “VPN” item, go to “VPN Client” Tab and click “Add profile” button.

Step 3.

Select “L2TP” Tab and enter the following settings:

  • “Description” – service name as you see fit;
  • “VPN Server” – IP-address that you received in the e-mail;
  • “Username” – username that you set at the initial configuring of the server;
  • “Password” – password that you set at the initial configuring of the server;
    Make sure you use your VPN username and password and NOT the Client Area credentials..

Click “ОК”.

Step 4.

Click “Activate” in front of the created connection.
